Discerning God's Will

This picture was taken a week before school started. Thanks to Evie for the snugly quilt - that SHE MADE! Thanks to Uncle Dennis and Aunt Alice for my cool hat. Don't I look stylin' and comfy on the couch trying to catch up on some rest before school starts?

I need prayers for discernment! Here's the latest: I saw my doctor today. The "good" news is that all the tumors we are monitoring are stable. I have sure been putting up with lots of misery for stable, but at least they are not growing. The bad news is that the tumor marker has taken off again - going up - which has always meant tumors are growing somewhere.

The side effects have also been increasing. I am not going to go into all the suffering because it is just too depressing, but it is just plain painful to work. I take pain medication daily. Although some of the pain (mouth sores, blistering hands, etc.) are due to chemo, the rest is due to cancer. I keep hoping things will improve, but it might be time to face "reality". Maybe I just can't teach anymore.

I will see my doctor next week. He is going to see what other options I have and I will update this blog when I know more. After looking down my throat and at my hands, he said I need at least another week before chemo, if we choose to continue it.

In the next week or so, we will be making some decisions about our future. Please pray for discernment that we may know God's will at this time in our lives.

Love you all! Thanks so much for the prayers! Much love, Kelli
