Kelli's Cancer Challenge II

Out with the old, in with the new!

I start a new drug tomorrow. The tumor in my abdomen is no longer responding to the previous chemo, so my doc took me off of it just before Thanksgiving. I have had a nice month-long break and am ready as I will ever be to start the new drug.

I was hoping to be part of a study, but I don't qualify because my active tumor is too hard to get to. Apparently they need to biopsy the tumors quite frequently as part of the study. Oh well.

The good news is that my brain is "normal" (Hahahaha) and none of the other tumors are growing. Just need to get the ab tumor under control. Am NOT looking forward to losing my hair again and don't know how bad the other side effects will be.

I just spent a great weekend with family - my dad came down from Fort Worth area and my aunt and uncle came up from Corpus. We had a great dinner and watched the Cowboys play the Saints. My aunt and uncle took Connor back with them for more hunting - hopefully he will bring home some birds to go with the two deer and the hog. He brought home so much meat we had to buy a freezer (my Christmas present - I love venison!!)

God has been sending us extra blessings recently. We have had our Summerwood house on the market since last March. We bought this house in Huffman last April and Faron and Connor completely remodeled it. We moved to put Connor back into a small town environment and he is doing well. Anyway, two house payments are not fun! However, we recently got a contract on it and are moving the remaining "stuff" out this weekend. Pray it closes!

Some of the stuff to be moved included furniture we wanted to give to a family that truly needed it. God answered our prayers on Friday and yesterday a man and two of his four kids came to pick it up. We were also able to give them a gift card so they could have a Christmas for the kids. I am still just so joyous over the whole thing. God is great and when I am patient He simply amazes me!
